Screen Free Week - 3rd May – 9th May.
Screen-Free Week is an annual event where both children and adults are encouraged to turn off screens. Instead of relying on televisions, computers, tablets and phones, parents and children are encouraged to read, play, explore, enjoy nature, and spend time together.
Getting Ready to Learn – Bingo Activity Sheet
To help you prise your children away from their screens, the Getting Ready to Learn team have created a simple Bingo Activity Game. This game includes many activities that will encourage children to move, follow instructions and express themselves.

How to Introduce Screen Free Time into Busy Family Schedules
- Choose a time or day that would suit your family to go screen free. You could start with screen free meal times, building up to screen free days such as ‘Screen Free Saturday/Sundays’.
- As a family, make a list of activities that you would like to do that do not involve screens.
- When embarking on screen free days why not mark the date on the calendar as a reminder and plan something exciting to make the day memorable.
- Ensure you leave all devices at home to avoid temptation!
