Department of Education: Public Consultation - Pre-School Admissions Criteria

Posted: Mon 19 Apr 2021

The Department of Education has published a consultation on Pre-School Education admissions.

This consultation relates to the statutory criterion that all funded pre-school education providers are required to use as part of the pre-school admissions process.

It seeks views on proposals to extend the definition of "children from socially disadvantaged circumstances" to include a wider group of children.

It also seeks views on the proposal to standardise the length of pre-school education sessions and the impact that this may have on the pre-school education admissions process in future.

A full copy of the consultation document and other related documents an easy read version are provided on the DE website and responses can be submitted online here

The consultation will be open until 16th July 2021.
